Mitt Romney wins Michigan and Arizona

Republican Presidential contender Mitt Romney extended his lead over rivals Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich, as he won the polls in Michigan and Arizona today.

While Romney won in Arizona by a convincing margin, the result in Arizona was very close. The margin of victory was just 3 percentage points, signaling a lucky escape for Romney.

With this, Mitt Romney has now won six primaries, while Rick Santorum has won four. But Romney has won the most important primaries and caucuses that have maximum number of delegates. Gingrich has just one so far.
