Kareena inaugurates 'Walk of the Stars' in Mumbai

Bollywood's beautiful actress Kareena Kapoor along with her father Randhir Kapoor inaugurated UTV's 'Walk of the Stars' in Mumbai, which is open to fans of the yesteryear actors, free of charge.

Like Hollywood has its Walk of Fame, now Bollywood has its own Walk of Fame 'Walk of the Stars', said veteran director Madhur Bhandarkar.

During the ceremony, Kareena unveiled her grandfather Raj Kapoor's brass statue on Wednesday. Recalling her childhood days with her grandfather, she said that he was biased towards her elder sister Karisma Kapoor.

"My grandfather Raj Kapoor was biased towards Karisma because both of them had blue eyes. I have green eyes as that of my father," Kareena told reporters.
"During summer seasons he would give two mangoes to Karisma and I would end up getting just one. I had to work hard to please him," she added.

"I am short of words, what more would I ask for. My father and my grandfather had made me who I am. Which girl has got this opportunity guys," she said.
"Kapoors have acting in their veins and blood. I am looking forward to walk down a memory lane. What better gift than this to the 100 years of Indian cinema", she added.

Kareena while sitting on the lap of the statue of her grandfather said: "This is the only lap that Saif would allow me to sit on."

Madhur Bhandarkar joined Kareena in unveiling the signatures of her great grandfather Prithviraj Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, Raj Kapoor, Sunil Dutt and Nargis.

Madhuri Mehta - Pride of Odisha

Madhuri Mehta is the first woman cricketer from Odisha and Balangir to be selected for the national women’s cricket team. Madhuri played a few matches in the West Indies tour. Although she failed to achieve anything, still drew some attention worldwide. Madhuri also became the first international cricketer from the state to represent the country.

Odisha may not be a rich state but it is confirmed that ‘Odisha produces talented people’. Moving one step forward, Balangir is also deserves credit which has created scores of talents. Today, Odia scientists are part of NASA, world’s apex organization/institution in space research.

Odisha (Titlagarh of Balangir district) born distinguished scientist Sam Pitroda is currently the Advisor to the Prime Minister of India on Public Information Infrastructure & Innovations, who is also widely considered to have been responsible for India’s communications revolution.

Again, Sniti Mishra from Balangir in Orissa has also made a big buzz on Zee TV's music reality show, 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstar'. And now it is time for Madhuri Mehta from Balangir again to move forward.

Although Madhuri’s grand parents’ origin goes back to Gujarat, Madhuri was born and brought up in Balangir.  Since generations her Parental family is living in Balangir. Again, Madhuri’s mother Arati Mishra is from Patnagarh and she hails from a typical Odia Brahmin family. Summing up all these, it epithets Madhuri a typical ‘Balangiria’.

Her father Pradip Mehta is also a well known cricketer and Madhuri has stated in many occasions about the all-round support from her family, District Coach Mr. Arun and Balangir District Sport Association. Unfortunately, whenever Odisha is discussed in international scenario, so far only the dark side has been focused which includes the starvation death, farmers’ suicide, child selling for livelihood and natural calamities.

But, perhaps this is the first occasion when Odisha would be discussed for sport (women’s’ cricket) during the upcoming West Indies series, where Madhuri is expected to play in the matches. Madhuri is an inborn talented batswoman who has already proved her potentiality in the state level and Zonal matches. Captain of the Bolangir district women cricket team and middle-order bats woman Madhuri has hitherto scored 72 as her best against Uttar Pradesh at Ahmadabad.

Madhuri has been poured with compliments from her fans and well wishers from all corners of Odisha. The Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) has awarded her a cash incentive of Rs 1 lakh as a token of appreciation. Yesterday on 8th Feb Madhuri was also felicitated by the Balangir Citizens’ Committee following a grand rally in the town to celebrate her success.

We, at Breaking news Online, also commend Madhuri Mehta’s achievements and wish her all the best for the forthcoming West Indies series and her whole cricket life.

iPhone beats BlackBerry in Canada

The demand for BlackBerry devices has collapsed in its home Canada and Apple's iPhone sales continued to remain high. It can be said that the game is over for Research In Motion in Smartphone sector.

Bloomberg and IDC reported that Apple has ousted RIM from the top list in Canada for the first time. Around 2 million BlackBerry devices have been shipped in Canada in 2011 as compared to 2.85 million iPhones, which can be said that it is a blow to RIM.

Earlier in 2010, BlackBerry had beaten iPhone by half a million units in Canada. The analysts said that RIM's revenue declined by 23% in the fiscal third quarter from a year in Canada, while the sales in the US increased 45 per cent.

BlackBerry was a revolutionary product offering advanced features and web browsing, but over the years iPhone has taken over its position displacing it at the top to number two in its country Canada.

Even RIM’s share in Canada has been seen slipping since the release of the iPhone in 2007, which is certainly not good news for the Canadian major.

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has been figured on the cover page of the forthcoming issue of Time magazine, which praises the BJP leader for the developmental works done in the state during his regime.

New Human Species discovered in China

"Mystery human fossils", which is claimed to be an entirely new species of Homo sapiens, has been discovered in South China. Researchers have opined that the species existed about 11,500 years ago.

Fossils of the discussed species including Skulls, jawbones and teeth had been found in the Longlin Cave in China's Guangxi Province in 1979 and in Maludong Cave in Yunnan Province in 1989.

Recently Researchers have found that these bone fragments may have belonged to a previously unknown species of Homo, like the modern humans who should have lived in the East Asia. They were either permanent dwellers of East Asia or had migrated from Africa- they also suggest.

The scientists have named these people as ‘the Red Deer Cave’ people. These deer cave people although share some features with modern human beings, still they also differ in certain aspects.

If we analyse our history, these species is believed to be co-existed with the other normal species in East Asia.

The scientists have provided the features of the skulls as - a flat face, a broad nose, a jutting jaw that lacked a chin, large molar teeth, a curved braincase with prominent brow ridges and thick skull bones.

Another (controversial) study has suggested that these jut-jawed and heavy-browed deer cave people might have existed in the Stone Age.

Researchers have informed that according to Radiocarbon dating of charcoal from the fossil deposits these primitive people lived around 14,500 to 11,500 years ago. This was a time by which all other human species, such as Neanderthals, are thought to have died out. The charcoal also showed they knew how to use fire, the researchers said.

At the top of all these bigger probabilities, experts believe that DNA testing of the fossils can provide certain confirm facts, but the DNA testing is not that much easy, they equally ascertain.

BE CONFIDENT BUT NOT REALLY SURE

One of the keys to effective decision making is confidence. Even if you only have temporary convictions, act on them. If you doubt your decision while making it, trust in your leadership may erode.

Strong opinions signal confidence and provide others with the guidance they need. But resist the urge to cling to your decisions. Have the humility to realize that you might be wrong if better information comes along. And be prepared to change your mind and correct your course if that happens.

Body Piercing: Fashion or Disaster?

For many teens, fashion has become important way to express them in the society. Ear/body piercings have become very popular, especially among those aged 18 to 22.

That is because at this age, they want to get their own separate individuality and identity, by looking different.

The thing that motivates them to pierce is the desire to beautify one’s body in order to create certain impression or build an image. Yet, there are some other reasons, aside of those to make one’s body more tempting and alluring.

Body piercing is very noticeable among youngsters, after celebrities on TV showed off their pierced eyebrows, lips, nose and most commonly the belly. Belly piercing has become a fashion avowal among Indian women, who love to show the small piece of naval ring.

But sometimes piercing can become a disaster too, if it is not done carefully. There is also certain health risks associated with ear/body piercing. For example oral piercings can cause bloated tongues, excessive bleeding, infection and swallowing of small jewelry parts.

In fact, infections from moist or unclean piercing sites now occur in about one out of every five piercings.

According to some medical practitioners, many piercers are providing their services in unsafe environments - no gloves or mask, no sterilization tools and unhygienic surroundings. So while going for the piercing, one should give attention to these small things that matters a lot.

Body piercing is not only to grab attention, but also a fashion trend that will be followed by the upcoming generation. On the one hand it will give a trendy look, but on other hand it will be disastrous if done without knowledge and awareness.
